is nevada silver real or sterling silver?
I am not familiar with the term Nevada silver. One of the biggest silver strikes was in Nevada. That was the reason they opened the Carson City mint there. It was in operation from 1870-1893. I believe they are still mining silver there today. Sterling silver is .925 and that came from the British. There are however other compositions out there. Most silver that is top quality, will have it on it some place. If not I would leave it alone....

Silver definately tarnishes. It also always has a mark to show you it is genuine silver. (sterling) Pewter is slightly darker than silver and does not have a (sterling) mark anywhere. My pewter pieces are heavier than any silver ones of the same size....
